Thank you -you obviously are a great admirer of Vivien - I'm sure she would be touched by time, energy and care you have devoted to this site. There is so much rubbish on the web that I was very pleasantly shocked to find a site I could linger over for quite some time. Vivien hated being called 'beautiful' so I'm afraid I'll have to annoy her. She was in my opinion THE beauty of the 20th century and full of admirable spirit and verve - she hasn't received yet the full credit she is due.

Thank you for that wonderful page about this great actress. It's hard to find a lot of stuff here in France about Vivien Leigh...But it's always a pleasure to see that she still as popular now as she was in the days. It's great to to be able to carry on the memory of that wonderful woman.

What a lovely job you've done for Miss Leigh! I am one of her biggest devotees and was thoroughly impressed with your attention to detail and the superb photographs you picked to enhance the site. I have collected on Miss Leigh for 30 years and am somewhat of an expert (my collection will be seen on the A&E bio that airs tomorrow night), so let me just mention that the line in Vivien's first Film "Things Are Looking Up", was indeed NOT cut from the film. I own a copy of it and the line- and Miss Leighs small extra bits throughout-remain. She even gets in the line "Me for math!" at one point. So despite her having said it was cut, this is not the case. This makes me suspicious that she never saw the film and took someone else's word for the edit being in it.

What a beautiful lady!! I've seen all her movies and hope someday that "A Yank at Oxford" will be available on video. A/E recently aired her biography and it was interesting to see a short clip of a tv interview with her. I guess these are very rare. Keep up the work on this site. Will check back again soon! Would like to see a section on her favourite fashion designers.

A wonderful web site. I remember when I first saw Vivien Leigh. I was about 13. it was a rainy s8unday afternoon and on the afternoon movie was Waterloo Bridge. I sat and watched and fell in love with such beauty and sensitivity. When I was at college i was walking down the street and saw the bill board outside the Odeon movie theatre "Gone With The wind". Never have I been so stunned by the presence and beauty of an actor. The two shots that stick in my mind were at the barbeque and the red dress track shot. It was as though she took her own spot light along with her. The only person who comes anywhere close to her is the exact opposite Marilyn Monroe.

I am one of Miss Leigh's greatest devotees and I think that this page really does her justice. Vivien hated being called beautiful, I know, but I'm afraid I'll have to contradict her! She was one of the most beautiful women of the twentieth century. She was a true beauty and truly young at heart. Thanks for the time and effort you have put into this page.

HI "YOU'VE OPENED HEAVEN'S PORTAL HERE ON EARTH FOR THIS POOR MORTAL..YOU ARE MY LUCKY STAR" I first watched GWTW when I was 10 years old and I have been in love eversince. I don't even know when it expanded into love for the twentieth century, with all its music, art and cinema. Vivien Leigh is in my opinion, the greatest actress ever, though I know her only from the screen. "...Never to be fully known and truly understood. But still we are enchanted by her, and by the wonderful mix of beauty and art she brought to her films..."

People always look at actors and actresses from there performance, but never their personal lives. You have done a remarkable job putting this together and helping people see that there really are two sides to one story.

On Wednesday 21 July Carlton,a UK TV channel, screened a half hour documentary on Vivien as part of their "Legends" series. As a long-time Vivien admirer I was pleased to see that some long overdue interest was being shown in her. However, the documentary itself was rather poor. There were no clips from either "Gone With The Wind" or "Streetcar", which I suspect was largely due to licensing problems for the use of the material. In fact I found it more frustrating than fascinating.

There still remains a need for an in-depth portrait of this remarkable woman, whose own turbulent life is a worthy subject for a film. The most poignant part of the programme was Tarquin Olivier's memory of his father watching Vivien on television years after her death and becoming almost hysterical with grief. As he said in the programme, Vivien remained the love of Larry's life. It was heart wrenching stuff.

Thanks for these pages. It's great to see so many people taking such an interest in Vivien.

Andy

Vivien Leigh is the greatest actress, and her performances will be forever in our minds and hearts. She was wonderful in 'Gone with th Wind' her most famous role, but for me I hall always remember her in 'Waterloo Bridge' and Tolstoys 'Anna Karenina'. She was an actress of great style, talent, and beauty. It is wonderful to see such a good site in honour of the great Vivien Leigh!

I must say that your website is absolutely wonderful. I don't think I have ever come across so much information on such an icon ever. Your website is a wonderful tribute to the life, and career of Vivian Leigh.

By the way does anyone know where I may find The Gone With The Wind Collectors Plates. I am specifically looking for the plate where she is wearing the Red Velvet Dress. Also, I know at one time there was also a Barbie Doll of Scarlett wearing the same dress....I believe it is no longer manufactured, but I would be interested in purchasing one (if in good condition). If you have any information on this please let me know.

Thank You, Tara

I'm only 15 and I love Vivien Leigh. It makes me mad that people only reconise her as Scarlett O'Hara and not Vivien. I wish people my age could reconise actors and actresses that really had talent instead of the actors of today. Vivien was beautiful and an wonderful actress! I love Vivien and this page!

Wonderful site! This is a beautiful tribute to the greatest actress we ever saw. I often wonder what would Vivien's fierce critics (K. Tynan, R U there?) think about the impact she still has in the lives of those who admire her huge talent. Much to their dismay, I think... Other much more hyped stars have left no trace in our minds and hearts, but VL lives , in such places as this site. Thank you

I've just been reading some of the comments in the guestbook, and it's so nice that so many people lal around the world admire and love Vivien. I first saw her in GWTW when I was 11. My mum had it on video, and I only really watched it cos I loved the crinolines, but a few years later I watched it again, and really loved it. After that, I became a huge fan. She was an incredible beauty and a great great actress.

I am a big fan of GWTW. Being from the south I can really relate to the story. I became a Vivien Leigh fan through that movie and have watched every movie she has made. She really was a classic. I am only 32 years old but I want the GWTW story to go on for generations. This is why I named my daughter "Vivien Leigh".

You know Matt, I drop by here about every few months or so...just to get a perspective on what a celeb website should be. The dramatic presentations and graphics never cease to enthrall me. I have greatly appreciated the collages you have designed for my Maureen O'Hara site. I just wish I could do 1/10th of what you have achieved in this presentation of the legendary Vivien Leigh.

Either way - Matt. You're a very person and very gifted.
