Name: Fabrício Campos longo da Silva CommentsI love Vivien and Gone With the Wind and I've loved your site. I hope that someday Vivien can be recognized not only for Scarlett but for all her story. Bye. Fabrício Campos Longo da Silva
Name: Bill Stafin CommentsI think this is a great web site. The sections on her life/biography, her films, and photos seem really details. Thanks again, i'm glad i found it. Bill Name: Sarah CommentsThis is a nice page. I love Vivien Leigh, especially in Gone with the Wind. Bye. Sarah Name: Bettina Kirn CommentsVivien is the most wonderful actress of the world. I do love all her films even if they are rarely shown on TV. I am so glad that I found this pages. I simply adore her. Name: Lady MacBeth CommentsI just wanted to mention how wonderful and informative your web-page is. Vivien Leigh has been my favorite actress for forever and I'm glad that SOMEONE took it upon themselves to do justice to her. Name: Jacqueline CommentsHello! My name is Jacqueline! I am 19 years old and I am a fan of the wonderful and beautiful Vivien Leigh! She is one of my all time favorite classic actresses and in my opinion, she is the greatest English actress of all times! Your web site dedicated to Vivien Leigh is beautiful and I love all the photos of Vivien! I also like her biographie pages and her film pages. You have done a wonderful job with your excellent site! My Favorite movies of Vivien Leigh are: "Gone With the Wind", "That Hamilton Woman", "Waterloo Bridge", "Ceasar and Cleopatra", "Anna Karenina", "Fire Over England" and "A Streetcar Named Desire". Of all the 4 different film versions of "Anna Karenina" (The Great Garbo Version, the Vivien Leigh version, the Jacqueline Bisset Version and the Sophie Marceau version), in my opinion, Vivien Leigh is the best "Anna Karenina" of the cinema! I got very, very impressed when I saw the beautiful face of Vivien Leigh for the first time when I saw "Gone With the Wind" and I also got very impressed with her extraordinary performance as Scarlett O'Hara. In my opinion, Vivien Leigh is the most beautiful woman ever to grace the screen with her presence (Along with my other favorite classic actress Audrey Hepburn). Long Live Vivien Leigh! Jacqueline :) Name: Emily Lunemann Name: Brooke Wheeler CommentsHello, What a wonderful tribute to a great acting talent! I am greatful to see fans keep the memories of old Hollywood alive! My father, Lyle Wheeler, was the art director on Gone with the Wind. Name: NONA UTKE CommentsI was thrilled to find this web site. I love her and I will also love Gone With The Wind! Name: Tamara CommentsI am so glad that I found this pages; they are brilliant. I am so impressed by Vivien Leigh because she was such a wonderful person. I would give everything in order to meet her just once if it was possible. It is sad that her films are seldom shown on German television. I am glad that I found some biographies about her when I was in the USA this summer because you cannot get them in Germany either. She was such a great actress and of a breathtaking beauty. I will certainly name my child after her if it is a girl. Regards to all the Vivien fans who treasure the memories of her. Also thanks to the daughter of Lyle Wheeler. No doubt, he was so lucky because he could meet her. She will always remain in my heart.
Name: april CommentsI love vivian leigh in Gone With The Wind she is by far the best actress Name: Eun Ryong, Kim CommentsI'm really happy to find here. Thanks a lot! A few days ago, I could see 'That Hamilton Woman' on TV fortunately. Vivien was really great as well as other films. I want more and more about her, but there insn't enough information in Koea, so I had 'bookmarked' this site. Happy new millennium! Name: Currently:Lady Macbeth and Rosalind CommentsI realize that I have not yet complimented you on this website. VIvien Leigh is truly the supreme actress of her time. I ahve only seen 2 of her major movies: GWTW and SND and have been fascinated with her extraordinary prescence and her ambitious style. Very few actresses can be mentioned in the same breath with her as far as talent. I admire her for her undeniable ambition, and I intend to do exactly as she has done. I thank her for the inspiration she has provided me with, and I am delighted to see all these people giving her the admiration she so richly deserves. Who's with me? Name: Lady Macbeth (again) CommentsIndeed, I just realized that my former comments may not have been added, so here's a brief rundown agian. Vivien Leigh is the most talented actress of the century. Her Brightness, and her ambitious style have charmed and inspired thousands, including me. She has convined me, if I needed convincing, that I was going to be a two-time Oscar and (at least one-time tony ) winner myself! I'm relieved and happy to see so many people flocking to this site, and paying her such a grand tribute. I am glad to know that she is so appreciated! Name: Lara CommentsI am an actress and Vivien look-alike .I play Scarlett at parties etc. , and also work in the theatre. I would be interested in hearing of any items which belonged to Vivien anyone might own. I own one of her personal belongings from her estate sale, and would enjoy hearing from other owners. Your website is a beautiful tribute. Name: Kelly CommentsI have always loved Vivien Leigh, she portrayed Scarlett better than any one ever could have! Name: Megan CommentsI really loved gone with the wind the movie. I played Scarlett O Hara for Haloween with a really cool costume. I also think that Vivian Leigh is very pretty!!!!!!!! Name: Lari CommentsAfter watching "A Streetcar Named Desire" for the first time in ages, I couldn't shake off Vivien's stirring performance, so I looked her up on the Internet and was very pleased to find such a nice, comprehensive site! I'm sure those who may only know her as Scarlett O'Hara will gain a better insight of her life and other film roles after reading through these pages. Name: Krissy CommentsHaha, Your picture really fooled me. I thought you meant aged in as you were an old man now !! Guess I am sleepy. I love your site. I probably make up about half the hits you get on it because I must have visited it at least every other week. Your webpage really does define the very best on the web. It just can't get any better !! Good luck ! Name: Sarah Pallin CommentsYour site was great! I am doing a report on Vivien Leigh for a project at school, and I got all the info I needed plus more at your site. Thanks so much. Hope to be back soon. Sarah Name: Sylvia CommentsI don't like Vivien at the first sight. After I read the book GWTW, I wanted very much to see the lady who acted Scarlett. Then I began to adore her.I've collected all the copies of her film I can and watch them over and over again. Her beautiful voice has been doing a lot of good to my Englsih accent. I visited nearly all the websites about her as far as I know and copied them into my harddisk. I can recite the quite a few lines of Vivien and also some contents of the websites esp. this one. I also gave a lecure on Vivien in my class. In a gala show, I was honored to act as Scarlett, of course, not at all as good if not ruined. It's almost unbelievable that she lived in that age and produce such an art. If I were in her years ,perhaps I would go to US and idolatrize her crazily. I think she's the most sucessful, beautiful, skillful...actress in the 20th century and perhaps for ever! Name: vew_crafty@webtv.net CommentsI love the movies she is in, She was so bright and lively, she made you believe that she was who she was portraying, And the kiss in Gone with the wind! Makes me weak Kneed every time I see it. She was a wonderful actress! Name: Michael CommentsWithout doubt, Vivien Leigh is quite simply the greatest actress ever. I have never witnessed such breathtaking performances as those she gave in "Gone With The Wind", "Streetcar Named Desire" and even "Anna Karenina". Everybody comments on her extraordinary beauty and grace, but I think both of these things meant her tremendous acting abilities were often overlooked. I had the privilege of staying in her favourite room at the Two Bridges Hotel in Dartmoor. Fans should check it out, but booking is advisable (everybody wants to stay there!). Thanks for a wonderful set of pages. Name: Steve CommentsIt is always such a pleasure to see Vivien Leigh either on film or in photographs. The best biography of her is by Hugo Vickers; it is extremely well researched. Ms. Leigh's determination to surmount her mental health problems inspired me, who has had similar difficulties. Her vulnerability and her anger, her real humanness, is exemplified especially in "Streetcar". Who can forget the scene when she rejects Karl Malden's advances? Beautiful website. Thank you! Name: Tammy CommentsScarlet is my hero Name: RUTH CommentsA MOST WONDERFUL ACTRESS, NOT ONLY IN GONE WITH THE WIND, BUT ONE OF MY OTHER FAVORITES STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE. SO MANY GOOD ACTORS COME FROM ENGLAND. SO I MUST ALSO MENTION ANTHONY HOPKINS HE'S GREAT. HELLO TO THE WORLD OVER. BE KIND. Name: KRYSTAL CASE CommentsTHIS WEBSITE WAS VERY HELPFUL TO ME BECAUSE IT WAS EASY TO USE THE FAQ SHEET YOU SUPPLIED WITH ME. Name: Cristina CommentsI would like to congratulate you on creating the most interesting and complete site about Vivien Leigh I have come across until now on the net.Thanx for all the pics I've never seen before and all the details about her life. In my opinion she was not only a great actress but most of all a rare character,a wonderful person, full of dignity, pride, class, intelligence and most of all originality-she was always herself. Keep up the good work.Bye Name: Irene CommentsGone with the wind is the best movie ever! There is never going to be another movie so wonderful. Vivien Leigh is my favourite actress of all time and her story is greater than any movie. I really like your webpage as it is beautifully done and very informative. Could you tell me what would be a good book about GWTW and/or Vivien(with nice pictures and good information)? And where can I get it? Thanks for creating this website! Lovely spring for everyone reding this (and oh yes Audrey Hepburn is also one of the best and most beautiful actresses). Name: nate sac CommentsWhere's the damn author?? Name: Jessica Glissendorf CommentsI liked it but I was hoping for more information. Please add more information. I loved the pictures. Name: Lisa CommentsI'm just wondering if anyone had an email from someone called Sinead McIvor, claiming to be from Carlton TV (it's a UK TV company) asking for info on Vivien because they were amking a TV documentary on her as part of a series called 'Legends' I sent back some details, and got na email asking if I could give this person a 'quick call' just so he can ask me more queastions on Vivien. I think this all sounds rather dodgy. As I doubt a real TV company would expect you to ring them. Did anyone else get an email like mine? Name: cass CommentsThanks for all the info. I am doing a report and I have found a lot of great stuff to get me going! Name: pat james CommentsI went to 4 other Vivien Leigh sites before yours and I must say yours is by far the best. Especially good was the biography section. All the best Name: micah . CommentsThis is such a great site! Name: Forrest CommentsThe God lost his gold in the earth so we could see Vivien Leigh,I was very surprised when I see Vivien Leigh at the first time in Gone With The Wind, she was the most beautifull as I ever seen. then I collected films, photos and books about Vivien Leigh with my best,I printed photos of her and hanged them in the wall in order to see her ever time,I am so glad to make friend with all the fans of Vivien Leigh in the world, long live Vivien Leigh Name: Mike CommentsMy comments will echo those made by another English Michael earlier in the book. I have always believed that Vivien was a formidable acting talent. Even in sentimental fluff like "Waterloo Bridge" it is impossible to ignore her screen presence, infact it is impossible to gaze at anything other than Vivien herself. One of my favourite Vivien scenes is from "Anna Karenina" when Ralph Richardson informs her that she will be separated from Serge. The tears that spring to her eyes, the way she flinches...everything is excellently done. What an actress. Anyone staying in London should check out Vivien's old house in Eaton Square (near Victoria), there is a commemorative blue plaque informing the passer by that Vivien lived there. Thank you for your wonderful pages. The best Vivien site I've come across!! Name: Corrie Watkins CommentsI am a huge fan of Vivien Leigh. My favourite film is Gone with the wind and this web site is great. Thanks alot! Name: Lisa CommentsRight, don't know if this is of interest to anyone, but I left a message a few weeks back asking if anyone else had had an email from a lady from Carlton TV (UK) making a documentary on Vivien as part of a new series called 'Legends'. Well, I checked it out (in case it was a hoax or something!) and it was OK so I rang her and she asked me queastions about my love of Vivien Leigh and stuff. I was glad to help out cos I've not seen a programme on Viv for a long time. I can't wait till it comes on TV.... Name: Kelli Phillips Name: Patrice Ridder CommentsIsn't it amazing that after all these years since Gone With the Wind first premiered, and all the years since Vivien's own death, that her legacy lives on? While I think it was wonderful that she and Olivier concentrated on stage work, it also left fans like myself adrift and watching films that were not well done (Waterloo Bridge), or sad (Roman Spring of...), or roles that did not really test her talents in the way that Gone With the Wind did. It truly featured a once in a millennium performance! Name: Fran CommentsI like<Gone with the wind>,so I like Viven Leigh. Name: jingle CommentsI'm so glade to find this website for Vivien Leigh,I like she and her films.Just yesterday,I saw the film "A streetcar named desire" on TV for the first time, her performance very appealingness.I also had seen "Gone with wind"(Twice) and "Waterloo bridge",all these films are classic. In China,I can get seldom infor,so keep this websit.(Thanks for your pictures,I make it be my desktop wallpaper) Name: Rute Batista Commentsshe was really a great actress. She was perfect in GWTW.I can't image another actress doing the part of Scarlett 0'Hara.I just regret that I couldn't meet her.Vivien and Clark Gable made the best movie of all times Name: CLEOPATRA STEFANOU CommentsSHE IS A LEGEND. THE ONE AND ONLY BEAUTY Name: Emily Clark CommentsI really like Gone With the Wind. Name: JARROD SINGLETON Commentsi am truly delighted to have found this wonderful site - i have adored Vivien ever since i was a kid. She is, without question - the most stunning woman who ever graced the silver screen - YES, even more beautiful and glamorous than Rita Hayworth, Ava Gardner and Joan Crawford put together. Vivien had, and still has a way of transporting you when you view her films; there is an errie yet wonderful presence about her. I'm sure all you fan's of Miss Leigh know what i am referring to. It is simply ridiculous that her husband of twenty years or so - Laurence Olivier - should be considered a "finer" actor. Vivien had just as much presence, ability and plain good looks as her partner - yet, even to this day she is second fiddle to him. Well! - i say no more!, Vivien should be given her rightful place in movie history - at it's pinnacle. It is tragic that this frail yet vibrant beauty only appeared in some twenty films... i suppose that is a contributing factor to her relative obscurity among film-goers, who knows?. To forever change a skeptic into a devoted fan - just sit them down and view "Waterloo Bridge" for them - when she is contemplating - no, i won't give that away!, but - i defy anyone not to be on the edge of there seat - if not on the edge of tears. i consider this movie - and this is only my meager opinion! - to be her finest moment - even though she was not in the sumptouos and vivid suroundings of the excessive Technicolor "Gone With The Wind" - the beauty of her heart-shaped face shows even more so in the stark and shimmering monochromatic black and white which classified her films when she was in all her glory. Well!, i have been rambling, haven't I?. Sorry if i have - but i have always held Vivien dear, and i am glad that whoever designed this site has commerated her in such a stylish, dignified and elegant fashion - gee, it almost sounds like a description of our Vivien. i urge all of you who read this to view as many of her classic, simply wonderful films as possible - even her - huh, hum... less than brilliant films have a glow to them - something that, in my opinion - no other star - before or since has had. i have, since my earliest years escaped with Vivien into a world where time stands still, where everything is interesting - beautiful, even - and always all my own. I hope that all of you will be able to find something like that with this most extraordinary actress, the likes of which we will never see again. Thank you all for reading this rambling piece of dialouge... i know that all of you agree with what i have just written, or at least - i hope you do. A fabulous biography on Vivien Leigh came out a few years ago - namely "Vivien: The life of Vivien Leigh" by Alexander Walken... i hope all of you can read this most fascinating piece of work - it drags pointlessly in some respects - yet, it pulls off one of the most detailed, meticulous, sincere, interesting and readable books i have ever seen printed on her. Go out and get it!, hope you enjoy!. Well, if i don't quit now, i never will! - Bye, Bye to all you VL fans out there.... VTY - JKS Name: nyeisha dortch Comments

Name: Echo CommentsYour site is wonderfully done. If your an amature you are very talented. Thank you for making all of this nostalgia available to all of us. Name: kim Commentsi think she was a very beautiful lady. I wish she'd done more movies. I loved her in Gone With The Wind. Name: Jose CommentsMiss Vivien Leigh was in my humble opinion one of the greatest actresses that graced the screen and the stage. It is very sad that the old Hollywood was only interested in the money part and not the acting abilities of an actress/actor. Although her preformance in GWTW as Scalett O'Hara will forever be remembered, I believe that as Blanche Dubois in "A Streetcar Named Desire", was her very best. Her portrayal of an aging, depressed woman was superb - only those that have experiened this type of thing can truly understand how well she played the part. Miss Vivien Leigh was not only a beautiful woan, btu also a great actress and a great human being. Thank you for this tribute a truly woderful actress. Name: Courtney CommentsI want to thank you for doing this for Vivien and all her fans. She was a brillant actress. We shall never again see an actress with her talent. Her classic beauty and passion for acting made her so easy for everyone to fall in love with. Name: karissa CommentsWhere do I begin? Vivien Leigh is the strongest, most beautiful woman that ever lived. No one will ever compare to her. Just look into her eyes and you will see her soul. Never let her memory die! Name: Sylwia CommentsI was 3 or 4 when I saw GWTW for first time. And I love it since then. But when I was so little I didn't understand this film. I just loved Scarlett and her beautyful dresses, I guess. What else can see child in that kind of movie? But the truth is that it was my favourite film and I could watch it always - but it wasn't obsession. 2 or 3 years ago when I was in England in some reason I started miss GWTW. When I came back I watched it few times and finally I read the book. I could not do anything but reading - I believe U understand me:-) I love film as much as the book but I think that film version is so not complete. IN book there are so many important moments. For example the scene in store after Rett went out from prison. I thing that was the moment when we can see his true love for Scarlett. I love Vivien Leigh. There wasn't and never will be any woman more suitable for this role than she was, because she was Scarlett. She had the same power, the same fire in her eyes as Scarlett had. She was charming in the same way and she also was a child. Because all her unusually was made of the incredible strong woman and little child who needs help. It was very special miksture, very rarely one. And both, Scarlett and Vivien, had it. This child was the reason Scarlett was so incredible but it was also responsible for everything what happened between her and Rett. She couldn't understand her mistakes, she was cruel as the children are - without being aware of that. I am sure that Rett came back to her. He came back but she DID NOT get him back. I just want to say that Rett wasn't kind of man she could make came back to her if he wouldn't want it. But after some time he had to relized that he still love her and he will never stop because his love for Scarlett was to strong. He know about the child in her and I think he loved that child more than any of her features. And he loved her to much to live her alone. I really regred that I can't express everything what I feel but it is impossible in English. But I hope it wasn't very difficulte to understand it. I am sorry for mistakes and that it is so long but I want U to know what I feel about GWTW.
Name: Ashley DeLong CommentsDearest Vivian, You did such a nice job in Gone With the Wind. I really liked how much you showed traggicness when people died. I liked the feelinng you showed during the rough times when the Yankees were burning down small portions of land at a time. I liked how bold, womanly, and tough you were during hard times. Name: Erica Zertuche CommentsI very much enjoyed reading the different facts and information that I found will visiting this site. Not only did I adore the movie, I adored Vivien Leigh. Fortunately, I lived near a good library, and I began reading anything related to Vivien Leigh that I could get my hands on. I would scour the local TV listings, just hoping one of her films would be televised. She was so incredibly beautiful and lived such a happy and tragic life simultaneously. I count her as one of the most influential people in my life, and she will always hold a special place for me. Name: Sue CommentsShe was truely Scarlett O'Hara.
