I really love this site. The pictures are great! No one ever did or ever will photograph as well as Vivien Leigh did. I love all of her films, but I especially love "That Hamilton Woman". Watching that film is being able to witness Vivien Leigh's and Laurence Olivier's love first hand. You can see the intensity of their feelings for each other in that film. "Fire Over England" is like that as well.

I use to see clips and certain images of this famous movie, but I never knew what all the hype was about. Then I saw GWTW when my mother made my sister and I watch it. I must say that I fell in love with the movie the moment I saw Scarlet telling Ashely how she felt about him at the Bar-B-Q at Tewlve Oaks. I've watched the movie faithly everytime it came on television. I've encouraged my friends to watch it also. Because it dealt with slavery my friends felt that it was offensive, or it was too sensitive for the men. I don't know how I got passed the slavery and saw the love story, but it stuck with me. I guess this movie is for lovers of a great love story. Vivan Leigh was beautiful and she and the love of her life had a really sad yet fairy tale like love affair. I envy that so much. The site is beautiful and keep up the good work.

I cannot count the number of times I have watched Vivien Leigh's breathtaking performance in GWTW. I grew up watching that movie although I was born long after her death. I have read the books retelling her life story and the hardest thing for me to swallow (other than the pain she had to live with because of her misdiagnosed condition) is the fact that such an exquisite beauty and glowing actress died alone.

I can not imagine what my life would be without Gone With The Wind. It is by far the best movie that has ever been made and I have been a fan for years. However, I do not feel it would be such a great movie without Vivien Leigh in the role of Scarlett O' Hara. Leigh makes the movie. She nails the part and portrays the Scarlett I know from the book perfectly. She makes a perfect Southern Belle. Without Leigh, the movie would be terrible. Luckily, Leigh won the role. I can not imagine anyone other than Leigh as Scarlett O'Hara. Thank you Vivien Leigh for portraying Scarlett in such a manner.

I am completely and uterly thunderstruck by this unbelievable site! It is absolutely, positively, magnificent! I rushed to get a co-worker and fellow Leigh admirer, and we have been sitting here like two idiots, with our mouths hanging open, in absolute belief at what is on the screen before us!!! Mathew, your work is extraordinary, and this is hands down, one of the most gorgeous sites I ahve ever seen. Thank you, THANK YOU! Your work is <i>greatly</i> appreciated!!!

Leigh was an amazing actress and quite possibly the most beautiful actress to hit the big screen. It is unfortunate that she had to die so young, but she suffered enormously at the same time. Was there a more glamorous, sterling, sought-after couple than the Oliviers, though, in their prime?! They were such a golden couple as to not seem real almost. They were endlessly fascinating, and what a loss that they didn't do more films together (her Katherine in "Henry V" would have been something!).

One last thing, and then I'll stop ranting :-), but it always astounds me when I read that Leigh wasn't considered that strong an actress, her beauty hindered her, etc. etc.; to this I can only say have you seen "Streetcar..."?! Which contains one of the most scorching and powerful performances ever put on film, in my humble opinion! Anyway, any criticism of Leigh as far as acting is entirely unjustified, simply on the basis of this performance alone, I think.

This is an excellent site, a fitting tribute to one of the screen's greatest actresses. Her performance in Gone With The Wind is certainly stellar. Her portrayl of Blanche DuBois is so true to William's image of the woman and so well played that to me it proves she truly was a great actress, not only a beauty: were she only a pretty face, would she have been able to play Blanche so movingly with unfllattering make-up and light? I find it ironic that I came upon this site from a page listing "forgotten actresses". Leigh's continous line of fans and the immortality of her roles ensure that she should never have been put into such a category.

Vivien Leigh is so often misunderstood or overlooked that reading the beautiful comments made by other Vivien Leigh fans has beem great. How wonderful is this actress who could make such an impact on somebody like me, somebody born 15 years after she died. Many people only consider Gone With The Wind when they hear the name Vivien Leigh, and though it is her best movie, all of the movies are excellent, especially Streetcar, Waterloo Bridge, Lady Hamilton and Caesar and Cleopatra. Quite simply, this is one of the most beautiful Home Pages I've ever seen!!! You have truly done a magnificent job. Even if one is not a Vivien Leigh fan, I can't imagine being absolutely bowled over by this site. You put the others to shame, quite frankly.

Hands down, Vivien Leigh has to be one of the most beautiful women who ever lived. Not to mention one of the most beguiling and riveting actresses ever to grace the big screen. It is something of a tragedy that she didn't do more films for us to treasure, I think. Also, it ALWAYS amazes me when I read that she was more a decorative thing and was never a class A actress. To that I have to ask if "A Streetcar Named Desire" was ever viewed. I cannot comprehend how <i>anyone</i> would question her talent after a powerhouse performance like that? I have been a fan of Vivien Leighs for about three years now, though I didn't become a MAJOR fan till quite recently. I think she is the most beautiful actress ever to grace the screen and probably the finest actress to come out of England. She's one of the most beautiful and graceful star of all times! I've read her biography and it pains me to know that she suffered from TB and had manic depression. I was really touched by what I saw and read. It opens many emotional tunnels for me. You may or may not believe me, but I was vivien in my past life. I know it may sound crazy, it's like someone saying I was Clark Gable in my past life. It has taken me years of understanding it and dealing with it. I'm 29yrs old and a man, if you were to sit and speak to me you would know that what I saw is true. I know way to many deep personal thoughts and memories. I never really knew why I loved Vivien Leigh so very much. I don't think it has to do as much with her as an actress but rather with her as a person. She was not perfect in any way and she was desperately unhappy at times. But she knew how to have fun and enjoy herself. She had some energy and wasn't just waiting for things to happen. She wasn't scared of doing anything in life. She wasn't scared of other people, only herself. But she never let that prevent her from doing whatever she wanted.
